    Meet The Team

A Practice Built on Lived Experience, Deep Understanding, and Whole-Person Care

We are currently providing Telehealth in CA and Europe and in-person sessions in Sherman Oaks and Pasadena.

    Our Story

At the Neurodiversity Care Center, our story is not just professional—it’s deeply personal.

We are not simply clinicians who treat ADHD and neurodivergence. We are individuals, families, and professionals who have lived it. Many of us identify as ADHDers or AuDHDers ourselves, or have close personal relationships with neurodivergence. That lived experience shapes everything we do—from how we listen, to how we understand, to how we help you move forward.

We know firsthand that ADHD is not just about focus or productivity. It impacts identity, relationships, self-worth, emotional regulation, and the way you experience the world. We also know the frustration of being misunderstood, misdiagnosed, or told to “just try harder.”

    • That’s why we created a space that is different.
    • A space where you don’t have to mask.
    • A space where your brain makes sense.
    • A space where you are not “too much” or “not enough”—you are understood.

    A Truly Neuro-Affirming, Whole-Person Approach

We believe in treating the whole person, not just a diagnosis. Mental and physical health are deeply interconnected, and you cannot effectively support one without honoring the other.

    Our approach is:

Neuro-affirming – We don’t pathologize your brain; we help you understand and work with it

    • ADHD-informed and AuDHD-aware – Every aspect of our care is grounded in real understanding of neurodivergent experiences
    • Trauma-informed – Because many neurodivergent individuals carry layers of misunderstood or unrecognized trauma
    • Integrative and brain-body focused – Supporting nervous system regulation, emotional resilience, and cognitive functioning together

    Joli Selten-Forbes

    Joli Selten-Forbes

    Associate Psychotherapist, AMFT #146670

Grounded in radical self-acceptance and mindfulness, I work with neurodivergent children, adolescents, adults, and the people who love and support them. I have a particular passion for working with individuals navigating a new diagnosis, seeking assessment, or learning to better understand their unique neurobiology. Together, we cultivate greater self-understanding, self-permission, and lives that feel more aligned with who you truly are. My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing from Person-Centered Therapy, CBT, ACT, psychodynamic theory, mindfulness, somatic practices, expressive arts, play therapy, and guided meditation. Rather than relying on a single modality, I tailor treatment to each individual, honoring that every nervous system, every brain, and every story is different. I hold an MA in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pacific Oaks College with a specialization in trauma-informed LGBTQIA+ psychology. I am an ADHD Certified Service Provider and have additional training in Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness and meditation, and Radical Self-Permission. Whether you're experiencing anxiety, burnout, life transitions, trauma, grief, addiction, relational challenges, or simply trying to better understand yourself, therapy offers a space to slow down. Together we'll build practical skills for regulating the nervous system while exploring attachment, family systems and internal systems/parts work; identify and reframe harmful thought patterns, name your strengths and learn to identify limits and boundaries.
